Granville Island Fishing Update, October 1st
Things have perked back up over the last few days. We saw a little bit of rain on Friday that seemed to draw some fish tighter to the mouth of the Capilano. We have averaged 3 to 7 hook ups a charter over the last few days. A mix of adults and jack chinook. Whole herring with no flasher and anchovies behind flashers have been the ticket as per usual. The majority of the fish have come within 10 or 20 feet of bottom. It is always worth running a rod higher in the water column to pick off coho, chum, and chinook! We are starting to see more and more chum salmon flip around now as well.
The forecast is calling for continued dry weather and a return to above seasonal, warm temperatures by the middle of this week. It looks like the summer fishing weather is going to continue into the middle of the month at least.
Give us a call to book your Granville Island Fishing Charter! These big chinook will be around for the next 2 to 3 weeks! Possibly longer if it doesn't rain!
