Winter Salmon Fishing is in full swing in Vancouver and Sidney
November was an exciting month from a weather and fishing perspective. We chose our weather between the fall storms and found some nice winter chinook salmon. It looks like it is going to be another good winter of salmon fishing. The weather has now stabilized and we are really looking for to winter chinook salmon fishing, one of our favourite fisheries of the year!!

Winter Chinook Salmon Season is Here!
As we transition into the colder months, Winter Chinook (also called blackmouth) take center stage in the Vancouver and Sidney areas. These fish are smaller than the summer Chinook but still provide excellent sport with their strong, aggressive fights. Winter Chinook fishing typically runs from late fall through early spring, with November being an ideal time to target them from our Vancouver and Sidney locations.

Fall Fishing Report for Vancouver
We had one of the best Septembers on record for numbers of chinook! The consistency of the fishery was tough to beat and we had solid opportunities on most days off the Fraser River Mouth and in Vancouver Harbour. It is now October and we are still seeing good numbers of migrating chinook and coho salmon.

September is BIG FISH month in Vancouver!
September is a month that anglers eagerly await in Vancouver!! This is when some of the biggest fish of the year enter local waters and it is also when fishing restrictions ease and almost everywhere is open to chinook salmon! The Bell Buoy, Sandheads, T 10, Point Atkinson and the Capilano Mouth are areas where local anglers witll target chinook salmon up to 30 or 40 pounds!
