September is BIG FISH month in Vancouver!

September is a month that anglers eagerly await in Vancouver!!     This is when some of the biggest fish of the year enter local waters and it is also when fishing restrictions ease and almost everywhere  is open to chinook salmon!     The Bell Buoy, Sandheads, T 10, Point Atkinson and the Capilano Mouth are areas where local anglers will target chinook in the 10 to 20 pounds with the odd one up to 30 or 40 pounds!

We have some availability in September, not a ton, so please give us a call or an email to get out on a Vancouver Fishing Charter.    On our 5 hour charters we often fish the Bell Buoy, Iona and the Cap Mouth.    On our 8 and 10 hour trips, we often venture further south to Sandheads, Crap Pot Bay, and the T 10 if the fishing and weather warrants the run!

Some of the biggest chinook of the year often enter the rivers between September 10th and 25th.    In early September, we usually see good numbers, but there are more 10 to 15 pound red chinook in the mix.   In mid to late September we get the big white chinook in bigger numbers!September is one of our busiests months of the year as many local Vancouver anglers are taking advantage of the big chinook salmon fishery close to home.     Trolling anchovies, hootchies and herring all get their fair share of big chinook big chinook bites.

Check out this video from a few years that we shot with FIshing With Rod, it gives you an idea of what we target in September and how we do it!!
